During both my BA and MA, I focused on the complex relationship we have with body image, with my MA work specifically delving into the cultural phenomenon of the 'selfie.'

My aim was to visually explore how we perceive and present our bodies - especially in an age where altering one’s appearance on social media has become not only accessible but normalised. I wanted to highlight the emotional impact of this shift, offering a reminder that feelings of self-doubt and body insecurity are universal.

Through my work, I hoped to foster a sense of connection and reassurance for those struggling with these issues. My primary medium throughout these projects was collage and mixed media, which evolved into moving image during my MA.

I conducted extensive research, drawing from newspapers, magazines, online articles, and social media commentary to gather both imagery and text that reflected the broader societal conversation around body image.
